It was also an exercise is seeing whether I could utilise my meagre artistic talents to come up with a distinctive, functional and cool look to the graphics of the game. I think I had started to make a decent stab at that, but it was left aside when the 2004 Retro Remakes competition came around and was never re-visited.

Now, I think it is time to get it finished … more just for the sake of saying I have finished it than anything else, and because I enjoyed the original at the time, but it is now a little jerky and frustrating to play, and it would be nice to have a more modern alternative available.
